It is with great pleasure that we announce Lauren Joseph, sixth grade teacher, as Hayfield Elementary School’s 2020/2021 Outstanding Teacher Nominee. She instills in her students a desire to learn and is considered a mentor by the parents in her classroom. Ms. Joseph demonstrates kindness, authenticity and effectiveness as a teacher and parents are forever grateful for the impact that she has had on her students.

In addition, Selena Galeas, Instructional Assistant, has been nominated as Hayfield Elementary School’s 2020/2021 Outstanding Operational Staff Nominee.  Ms. Galeas goes above and beyond for her students daily and helps them to reach their individual potential.  

The nomination packets for Ms. Joseph and Ms. Galeas will be sent our Hayfield pyramid committee where a pyramid team will select Outstanding Teacher and Outstanding Support Staff and winners will be passed on to the Region level. The Region winners will be the finalists for the overall Fairfax County Public Schools Outstanding Teacher Award and Outstanding Support Staff Award. A winner from each Elementary and Secondary school levels will be selected from the Region winners and will be announced at the annual FCPS Honors awards gala later this year.
