SupportingTransitions for Military Families

To help make your transition easier, Department of Defense (DOD) employees from each branch of service provide a School Liaison Officer (SLO) or a point of contact. School Liaison Officers are the primary point of contact for school-related matters and assist military families with school issues.

School Liaison Officers

Fort Belvoir's SLOs are Jamie Albers & Wendy O'Sullivan. They can be reached by phone at 703-908-5555.

School Support Services

Visit https://belvoir.armymwr.com/programs/school-support-services-1 for information activities for children of all ages, child care, parent outreach, youth sports and fitness, parents advisory council, school liaison officer programs, and much more!

Academic Planning

Moving in Fairfax County and Fairfax County Public Schools, you will be joining one of the premier public school districts in the nation. Our academic standards are high and our programs rigorous.  For general information on academic programs, visit the Academic Planning for Military Families page. For information on Hayfield Elementary academic programs specifically, visit our Hayfield Academics page.

Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunities for Military Families

Fairfax County Public Schools and the State of Virginia, like the rest of nation, work hard to remove barriers to educational success imposed on children of military families because of frequent moves and deployment of their parents. Find out more about the Compact here.
