End of Year Laptop ReturnFCPS has mandated that all FCPS student laptops and chargers be returned so that they can be serviced and updated for redistribution for the 2024-2025 school year. On Wednesday, June 12, the last day of school, each classroom will return all technology equipment. Students who do not turn in their equipment will be charged $472 for a laptop/iPad.
The only exceptions are for students enrolled in a summer school program/ESY who need their laptop/iPad to participate. If your child is identified for this, his/her laptop/iPad and charger will be sent home on the last day of school. Please direct any questions you have about the laptop return process to your child’s classroom teacher, including inquiries about financial replacement for missing laptops or chargers.
Asian American and Pacific Islander MonthPeople with ancestral roots in Asia and the islands of the Pacific have been integral to the story of America. In 1992, May was designated Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month to celebrate their heritage and contributions.Learn more about the heritage months, celebrations, and traditions celebrated in FCPS.
Jewish American Heritage MonthMay is a national month of recognition of the history of Jewish contributions to American culture, acknowledging the diverse achievement of the Jewish community in the U.S. Learn more about the heritage months, celebrations, and traditions celebrated in FCPS.
Medication Pick-upAs we approach the end of the school year, please keep the following in mind: If your child has medication in the health room, a parent/guardian must pick it up by 2 p.m. on June 12. Any medication not picked up, will be destroyed according to FCPS regulation.
Kindergarten RegistrationThere’s an easy five-step process for parents wanting to register their child for kindergarten:
- Determine eligibility.
- Identify your local school.
- Gather documents.
- Fill out forms.
- Schedule an appointment.
After the appointment at the school (the student and one caregiver must be present), the student will be ready for orientation, Bridge to Kindergarten, or any other introductory events each school may host. Read more about the registration process.
💻 Try Online Registration
Parents may register their children online for kindergarten through 12th grade. Learn how to begin the online registration process.
When registering, parents will create (or log in to an existing) SIS ParentVUE account. Please note that passwords should be more than 12 characters long. If you have an existing account and your password is shorter, please update it when you log in.
Class Placement: Parent/Guardian Input for the 2024-2025 School YearAs we begin planning for the next school year, one of our most challenging tasks is creating class groupings. It is very important to have balanced classes that reflect the diversity of our students. As we make these placements, we consider many factors including individual student information, teacher input, and social relationships.
If you have information that you believe is pertinent to your child’s placement for next year, please complete this form by Friday, May 31. If you have multiple children, please complete a separate form for each child. There is no need to complete the form if you do not have any information you would like us to consider. Requests for specific teachers will not be honored.
